The exhibition Dahlhausen viral is curated by the German artist and art collector Christoph Dahlhausen (1960). He smuggles his ‘art viruses’ into the Kunstmuseum Ahlen and contaminates the actual presentation of the museum’s collection with ‘strange’ art works. Some of them are taken from Dahlhausen’s private art collection, others sprout from his collaboration with colleagues from his international network. The result is an exhibition with frictions; surprising and contrasting settings change the perception of what is familiar and seemingly secure.

Amsterdam Drawing, the yearly art fair for gouaches, water colours, charcoal drawings and pen and ink drawings on paper, is the place for young talents and for (inter)national established artists to meet and expose. Fifty galleries from eight different countries will participate in this third edition.

The defined area of works on paper in visual arts has a dedicated group of followers around the world. To a lot of artists, paper is a favourite carrier and to a smaller group it is the only carrier. The fact that a drawing, collage, water colour or painting on paper necessarily brings the artist physically closer to the material, results in an intimate experience for the viewer.

Amsterdam Drawing is not only intended for collectors who are interested in works on paper by young and established artists, it also wants to bring contemporary art on paper to the attention of a wider audience.
