Foton XVIII, 2012

Lynne Harlow creates work with as little intervention as possible, enabling the materials inherent qualities, such as light and transparency, to play an essential role. Henriëtte van ’t Hoog’s three-dimensional objects play with your sense of perspective enhanced by the glowing colors hidden on the backs of each piece. Mary Schiliro’s luminous painted Mylars with circular cut-outs dialogue with their own rhythmic shadow play. Juxtaposing washy backgrounds with solid painted blocks of color, Douglas Witmer’s surfaces quietly resonate – color and light.
